I decided to see what J availability was like, as I might have the time to take in some Ashes cricket at the end of this year. Now , I did expect this exercise to be folly, but to my surprise, almost every day from mid November to the end of January, a period of about 75 days, there is a partner redemption to SYD (none with BA of course, unless changing to CX or QF in HKG). So that's looking good, right?

Wrong - there are only TWO days across that entire period that a return award ticket in J can be had from SYD to LHR.

Am I the only one that thinks this is odd? I would have, if anything, expected the opposite with demand from UK people going to SYD for some warm weather or Christmas ...
