Sorry I see the plat as the DYKWIA - otherwise the plat would have said "sorry, I did not see you" - having not done so makes him in the wrong

I got the impression from reading the story that the Plat (OP) was waiting in the correct line and the GM just waltzed up to the agent, cutting in front of the OP (and anyone else in line).
I think what was left out of the OP was the KM who arrived shortly after and was escorted to the front of the line in a Porsche, at which point the PM OP was required to bow and back away from the counter, only being allowed to turn away when he reached the trunk of the Porsche so he could unload the KM's bags.
