I don't think it's been mentioned but it appears FCO Rome has become a whole lot easier for back to backs. The new part has opened up and yesterday BA flights were at E16 (LGW) & E18 (LHR). I was flying to LGW, not on a b2b, but at these gates it's just like AMS gates - come off the aircraft into the departure area where the waiting passengers are.
That's very useful information. FCO has some very interesting prices, due to the complexion of airlines that compete against BA from there. However B2B, as you indicate, meant going to the lower level of the satellite, on a shuttle, and through a security control which could get sticky. After the fire there was quite a lot of rebuilding work, and indeed would be interesting if they have reconfigured the BA gates. So yes, more reports would be good.
