I recently flew MAN-AUH and check-in agents were actively offering lounge access @ £40 a head...

Lounge wasn't overly full, maybe the price is a bit too rich for most, although I did see a family buy 2 seats for their children who were flying in Y. It seems a shame to deny Silver Guest Members access from January 2017 and then offer it to anyone willing to pay.

EY just following EK's lead in generating additional revenue where they can....

It'll be interesting to see if service and quality in the lounges is impacted in the long run....
