Andalucia Hotel Recommendations

I have searched the forum for some detailed hotel recommendations for planning a trip to Andalucia in May but I still have some questions for our experts out there.

Since our kid is almost 4, we decided to take a family trip instead of a romantic getaway. This will make things a little more complicated so picking the right hotel becomes a lot more important.

So Alfonso is a no brainer for Sevilla, but the most important question for us is this: Is it better to stay at Alfonso and do day-trips to Cordoba and Granada, or deal with packing and unpacking with a child and staying at less luxurious properties in those two cities? I have seen some pictures of Hospes Palacio del Bailio and AC Palacio de Santa Paulo, but I am not convinced about their level as high level luxury hotels.

Also for Marbella and surrounding area, which hotels do you guys think offer the highest level of comfort and relaxation after a week of sightseeing with a 4 year old?

Since we will be there beginning of May, we can also just forget about Marbella, and stay in a nice hotel inland for a few days rest. Are there any high class properties in the area similar to what you can find in Tuscany or Provence? (think Castiglion Del Bosco).

Thanks in advance for all the help.
