Thanks for the info everyone. I will try to claim a refund for the difference with SAS Eurobonus. Is the only way to send a letter? I havenīt found an email-address that can be used. Know there used to be an address for gold status members or above, but lost my status some time ago.

It's too bad that the OP's wife didn't request (and NH didn't offer) F when the delay became known. It looks like both NH and LH have flights with F to MUC/FRA, and she could've been accommodated on those if space was available. Based on a quick and dirty check of schedules, they seem to depart later than the HND-PEK flight that would've connected to the PEK-MUC...
Actually that was our preferred option and we did request it. I was there with her and travelling on a more direct route, with NH F HND-FRA-OSL departing an hour and a half later. There was F space on this flight, but NH ground staff was unwilling to book it for her, stating that they could only help her get to MUC. The reason they stated was that the delay wasnīt their fault but due to air traffic control issues in PEK. NH F via LHR departing around the same time would also have been a decent option. I didnīt find the NH ground staff to be very helpful and their arguments did not make much sense to me, but for all I knew they were technically in the right and it did not seem like much could be done at the time.
