Seat assignments differ on BA and AA
Morning All,
We have an upcoming family trip to Orlando from LHR, routing is LHR-CLT-MCO, MCO-JFK-LHR. All expect the last leg on AA flights. I have chosen seats on all but the last leg (because BA want to charge me £60pp to choose!). Problem is there is some confusion between the seats shown on MMB from BAEC and those that AA have on their system.
From MMB all the seats look fine, but when I click through to change them, I am sent to the AA website and it says that I don't have seats assigned. I was on the phone to AA several times yesterday and it appears that there are two record locators for my booking. One shows just the LHR-CLT leg - and this is the one that BA use when sending me to the AA site for choosing seats. The other record locator shows all 4 flights, but won't let me assign seats on the LHR-CLT leg because it thinks it's a BA flight (is listed as the BA flight number).
Should I be worried about what the seat assignments look like from the AA side? Since it's their plane we're on, I'd have thought so.
What's even more strange is the seat assignments from MMB were complete nonsense until I happened to check again yesterday evening. Something happened to change then, but I don't know what.
And I thought booking AA flights through BA was supposed to be seamless!
Any thoughts on what I should do here? Am in touch with BA twitter, but I expect they will just confirm what MMB says and leave it at that..
Cheers,
Al.
