They get it because it's in their contract. And if the captain who is to operate my flight has to deadhead in, I want them to be as comfortable and as well rested as possible.

If passengers need to be displaced from J, people who have been upgraded are supposed to be the first to be downgraded over paying passengers.

It's also quite insulting to refer to them as "the help".
