I dislike comments like "they closed a loophole because people posted here" and I think it's disservice to people here to make up all kind of rumors that are not based on any actual experience.

The same way you were and you will be able to apply a DSU/CSUA at any time after you made the reservation (although that was against the T&C), you will be able to apply CSUA for a reservation at any hotel that's about to open as long as you can use points to upgrade.

We are here to help each other and make our lives easier when staying at Hyatt. True and reliable information is what's needed for that. And if people post their alternative facts here and then defending themselves as posting 'opinions', then that needs to be flagged out.

I still recommend to contact the GM of the property regarding application of CSUA and I am pretty certain the property will accept CSUA and will also honor all confirmed upgrades.
