Here's what I've done 4 of the 5 times I've been outbound from DFW this year: I'll stop there before the AC. If it's packed and with other distractions, I'll just pull together a small meal from the excellent hot bar, down it right there or jam it in a Ziploc and leave, and go to the AC down TD and eat there.
Here are my priorities, more or less in this order:
- decent and comfortable seating - not a mass of small, round patio tables with euro style hard chairs
- adjacent power
- quiet
- food
- spa (none in ACs)
- booze
- designer or modern - anyway - showers
and occasionally moving to the top would be the AAngels that can efficiently get me rebooked if that's necessary.
Since the Centurion loses in the first three (or four if I need rebooking) its an easy call. Even if there's plenty of room in the Centurion, its not that comfortable and I'll usually head to the AC after 15 minutes or so anyway. AMEX needs to get more room (which apparently is coming) and along with the guest limits above, do something with seating/power. The quality food and top-tier drinks alone don't tip the balance.
