A few minutes later he returns and removes the placard from the seat-back pocket, and frisbie's it into my face, stating, "I said read it"! After a few choice words, and a few mins later, a G/A approaches and tells me I am being thrown off the plane for interfering with a flight crew. On the way out the door, I humbly request a meet with the captain, which happens on the jet-way, and I am moved to 2C on a TED flight, after receiving a stern warning. After landing in Vegas I did tell the captain and the first officer my side of the story. and that I was hurrying home to get to my dying wife, who passed away a few days later.

So yes, things do get shoved/thrown in your face is you are a naughty boy!

Everyone on the plane has a different reason and story for flying on a particular flight, and some of these over zealous employees could sometimes use a little lesson in plain ol' plane manners!
A couple of years ago, I witnessed something similar to this. I always sit in exit rows because I am tall and am used to being quizzed about safety. On this one occasion, a strident FA came to the exit rows and told us all to read over the cards. I did what she requested and, when she came back later, she quizzed me about the weight of the door (I know this sounds incredible but it really happened). I was able to answer correctly but, then she questioned the guy next to me, texting away on his phone, asking him to explain how to open the emergency exit. The guy didn't hear her initially and she grabbed his hand so he couldn't text and said that he was impeding the departure of the plane and needed to pay attention. She asked him again how to open the emergency exit but, by this time, he was PO'd and flustered, so he said, "I don't know and don't care". She promptly ordered him off the plane. A huge verbal altercation ensued and the guy was eventually escorted off by airport police.

Lesson to be learned: Ignore the dragon at your peril.
