The 241s are issued and valid from the point of departure (UK AMEX = must depart from UK). Furthermore, if you move country, the 241s will disappear. GUFs etc will stay.

The advice I was given (and followed) was to book a trip in the future (within validity period of 241) departing from UK, and can then fine tune it later (i.e. change the dates). However, if I keep it in my account, it will disappear, and cannot use it.

So, that would be my advice, as given by AMEX & BA... book a trip from where 241 was issued in the future, and then tweak it at a later date. Do not let the voucher sit in your account... The GUFs (I have 1 x GUF 2 and 2 x GUF1s) both moved fine, as promised by BA...
