I went through the E terminal twice last week - inbound and outbound on connections. It's much improved from the old terminal and required no waiting in either direction. Also the new E terminal is beautiful. It even has a few good restaurants. I can no longer say that the only place in Italy you can't get a good meal is at the airport (although still true of MXP).
