What are our options at that time of night with approximate expected cost to get from the airport to near Mustek A Metro station (Wenceslas Square)?
How safe would it be to catch Bus 119, then Metro A at that time of night? This appears to be the cheapest option.
Is there a teller machine (Visa/MasterCard) at the airport to withdraw some local money?
Czech Republic is pretty civilized - yes there are ATMs at the airport @:-)
If I don't have coins form previous trip, I change (at horrible rates - well for CZ, good for US) about $10 cash and catch the bus. IMHO safer than subway ride, which is where petty criminals can be, though in my many trips I've never had a problem.
Much, much safer than Quito where I just returned from, and no problems there either.
Once at Můstek (English: Můstek station of Prague Metro. Remains of a medieval bridge (eponymous for the adjacent street and station as můstek means "small bridge" in Czech) over former moat between Old and New Town of Prague. Discovered during construction of the station, preserved and visible from subterranean vestibule of the station (Line A).)
Wikipedia since I'm too lazy to write it myself, but once there, it should be very safe as there will be people out and about at least until midnight.
I've thought about Airport Express, but that spits you out at Hlavní Nádraží, and even during the day there are all sorts of odd characters there, I would not feel comfortable there at night
IMHO bus / metro is your best bet ^
