Whenever you get stuck with a room with an adjoining door, make sure it's locked. I avoid those rooms like the plague but on a few occasions it was the best option available at check-in.
Apparently, he was a security guard that was not supposed to be here but somehow, he came in the property without anyone noticing him and had the access to come into the adjacent room to mine and then come in my room.
