While that is true, that is not what happened here.

Flying Blue reservations come with a free checked bag when flying on KLM or Air France on journeys that otherwise would require an Ivory member to pay for them. So, unlike revenue tickets, FB tickets come with an inbuilt free baggage allowance that has nothing to do with status.

From the above, it sounds like the booking engine leads one to assume the same holds true for flights on other carriers
