A few years ago, I was returning from LHR to ORD in F. When I checked in at the airport, I was given 1K (767) that I had reserved.

When I was in the F lounge, I was paged to the desk and told that my seat was now inop and given another seat. I asked them what was wrong with it. They didn't know the answer, so I asked them to call and find out. They did call and said that one of the compartments wouldn't open and close properly. WHAT!?

I told them that didn't matter and I'll take the seat. They said that now someone else had taken the seat (I'm assuming a non-rev). I told them that if I didn't get that seat back, I would refund the ticket and fly on another carrier (and those of you who know me know I don't bluff).

Lo and behold, I was given that seat back.

When I got on the plane, there was a piece of tape on the compartment door which is directly to the left of your arm in 1K.

Shenanigans? I absolutely think so.
