At the PH NY on a Welcome to WOH free night award, and the standard suite was available but not offered. Associate did state "we've upgraded to a deluxe king room."

It was only a 1-night stay, plus I've stayed at the hotel (as Diamond under HGP) before and got upgraded to a junior suite (on a free night) proactively, so I didn't really fight for it this time.
