It's interesting that you saw it as having little tourism, as I was actually pleasantly surprised at how many tour groups I saw when I went there in early November. It definitely wasn't crowded like the top international hot spots, but there were a decent number of tour groups from Europe, other parts of Asia, and the US. Shiraz and Esfahan also seemed popular with Iranians from other parts of the country.

Did you get to climb either of the Towers of Silence?
