is whisky cheaper in the UK though?. I have always stocked up with chocolates in the UK and alcohol from DXB . However with the falling pound probably its not as cheap as before at DXB..You might have a slightly better selection of liquor in the UK though .
Vodka was much more cheaper in DXB than in the UK.( I suspect that it still is even after the depreciation of the GBP )
The Dubai prices are all in the Dubai Duty free website anyway so that you can decide where to buy it from.
If you dont have AED and have any spare cash in USD use it instead of using your card/GBP. The exchange rates at the airport at not great IMHO.
Note to OP: If buying liquids above 100 mls (alcohol/shampoo etc)airside in the UK airport ask the shop assistant to pack it in a tamper evident bag . Dubai transit security are okay if it is packed in this way .
