To state the obvious:
As long as there are seats near the galley, there are going to be people affected by it. It should be clear that not everyone can choose the perfect seat; late bookers or upgraders may simply not have the option to follow that recommendation. So it isn't a fix of the problem, but a shifting of the problem to someone else. (and yes, of course I will follow that recommendation if I can)
The true fix is to report the problem, especially on Polaris flights where the marketing of the whole program seems to evolve around better sleep. Encourage your equally affected sets mates to do the same.
(and yes, bring/use earplugs)
