Yes, thank god that we finally got this functionality. The blue filter apps (the ones that actually worked) require rooting before the nougat update. I've been using f.lux on my laptop and desktop for almost a year now and really appreciate it.
I did notice one broken part of it though. If you do not set it to turn on during sunset-sunrise (in settings) it will actually increase the saturation on the normal "basic" display setting back to close to the other cinema/photo modes.
