I can shift money from my existing chequing account to open this account (with free cheques and SDB fee will be good too). Then it looks like applying through GCR for the Visa card is better than applying through Greedy Rates, as then it will cover the 50% annual fee and I also get $50.
But if you apply through Greedy Rates, you don't have the $1,000 minimum spend, you only have to use the card once and keep your account in good standing order for 90 days to receive the welcome bonus. It depends on how you want to use the card I guess.
