This would be a mute point if the CAD - USD exchange rate was on par like it was a year ago but as of today its 35% difference.

I noticed that AC is locking your fees in your reservation is the website you book from, on a recent trip to YOW, they decided to "convert" the bag fee to CAD from 25 USD even though the guy next to me would pay 25 CAD. I feel AC is wanting to have it both ways - insist on USD fees whenever possible but pay everyone in CAD. The same was noticed with the Seat assignment fees, the same in USD on the US website but in CAD on the Canadian website.

So a trip i looked into YYG from SFO - booked solely through the US site - 1131USD with preferred seats on a tango fare. But if i booked 1 ways in CAD, it would be 986USD after conversion from CAD. Of course i have a CC that pays no FX fees...

Its frustrating that they spend the time in trying to play games with people on just the foreign exchange! I feel for Canadians after all I remember living there when it was 1.66 for a USD, but now i live in the US, its nice to win the exchange rate game for a change. But it seems AC is trying to play me the other way now. Ugh....glad i dropped my SE 100k a few years ago!
