I've pieced together an RTW itinerary where the actual mileage is slightly less than 25,000 miles. My travel agent, however, prices it as 29,000 miles (LGLOB29), and cannot explain why other than "that is how BA prices it". I am obviously keen to find out why so that I can try to fit it within LGLOB26. My suspicion is focused on five segments with lower mileage than 500. Are shorter segments counted at a minimum mileage?
Put each leg into the BA.COM avios/tp calculator (airline/from-to airports).
This will allow you to see the base miles BA thinks is for each leg, note the individual legs mileages and add them up, then lastly add on any surface openjaw miles.
You'll see straight away if any leg(s) under BA.COM calculator vary greatly from the mileage data you looked up elsewhere.
