I assume you're referring to DTW-PVG? Have you checked how many seats are still for sale on the exact flight you expect to book? Impossible to give you any odds. I've had Asian flights open up during the last two days, so book whatever you really want and call every 48-72hrs to check if it's opened up. Might consider booking via SEA for one direction at least to secure at least one D1 seat.
