I know it sounds goofy. But I'm wanting to work for Continental in IT or Logistics
I wanted to post this in hopes of getting some input from some of you FT'ers on here who might have some inside connections or knowledge. To begin with, I'm have an bachelor's in MIS degree and have been wanting to move to Houston to get a job. This company is pretty much the only one I'm wanting to look for if I end up moving down there.
I'm aware of the career opportunities located on the CO web page, but I am more interested in simply speaking to someone either in the HR dept, IT dept, or logistics/crew scheduling/capacity management areas, to see if I can get a better understanding for what entry-level employees do in those areas. I know the market is tight and I know that, most likely, jobs are not available if they are not posted on that careers board. However, I also know that if I don't try to go to the extreme, I won't be able to fulfill personal goals and ambitions in my lives.
Therefore, I'm coming to you all to see if anyone has any advice or contacts they would be willing to offer. If it's someone personal you know, I can guarantee that I'm not going to get on their nerves or annoy them with constant calls. I'll pretty much just play it by ear. I simply have several questions regarding their positions to learn a little more about the company and what most employees do in these departments. Hopefully out of this I'll get a better understanding for the industry and, perhaps, get my foot in the door with a certain position.
And again, I know it might be closed-minded to just look at this one company; but I'd rather pursue (persue?) this before I looked anywhere else down there.
Thanks again for any help.
