Depends on weather too

I've only had 2 runway incursion turnarounds. One approaching YHZ (a/c n runway, not sure why AC flight of some sort) and another at LGW (CX 743 - previous landing a/c still on runway) in the
'70s/'80s. I've done more flying since then and haven't had any aborts for that reason.

The others have been 2 consecutive approaches aborted at relatively-high altitude due to heavy rain squall at PIT (US 321 - most of the other flights had aborted too). The other was a DL 727 approaching RNO too high (maybe due to the high crosswinds).

Only one scrubbed flight. Engine blew on BA 742 at THR on takeoff.
