I wonder if this is a thing in Japan now. I contacted four hotels this past week (GH Fukuoka, HR Hakone, HR Tokyo, and HR Kyoto) to make reservations using certificates, and I received responses to all four inquiries from the same person at what seems to be a shared Japan reservation center.
