What exactly is the overwhelming difference then between McKinsey and PwC? From a student's POV, they are fairly similar except McKinsey is far more specialised than just the consulting arm of PwC.

Neither recruitment processes nor qualification requirements concern me, since I've been fast tracked for internships at both (on the condition I get into my first choice university). If that's one of the main differences...

I also realise that the travel isn't glamorous and the point of the question wasn't to gauge which firm would be best for travel. I was merely curious as to whether what I've read has been overstated or not, as when I was at PwC - someone I was working with was only just going on their first trip (to Germany) after two years of being at the firm.
