Variations among Star Award Charts
I have in front of me both the US and AC Star Award Charts and am surprised at how different they are. Is there any indication that the Star carriers will try and create a standard reward chart whenever possible (I know that there are some airlines that are points based not mileage based like JK where this wouldn't work)?
For instance, North America to Guam:
AC 95/130/170
US 60/90/120
North America to Greece
AC 75/100/120
US 50/80/100
North America to Australia
AC 75/100/140
US 80/120/150
North America domestic
AC 25/40/60
US 25/50/60
There are some major differences here, mostly in favour of US passengers especially given the 50% domestic earning that most AC flyers would accrue. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is the exact same class of service that would be booked in either case. So why would the awards cost a lot more just because you are a member of a different Star carrier?
