Keep watching to see if different seats come available between now and the flight time. Ask at a check-in, ask at the gate, if all else fails very politely ask on the plane. H

However, I think you should call and point out the 9 year old is seated separately and AC should do something about it as I believe they are required to get the 9 year old seated with one parent.
