I can't go back on American's website and pull up the receipt from there but I know it still showed up as blank or zero in the fare section.
I was referring to the receipt pulled from AA.com (View trip -> Print trip and receipt).
On my most recent TY points booking (all TY points, no cash), the AA receipt showed the actual cash amount under "Total paid" on the top right-hand corner.
At the bottom, however, the "Ticket total" was indeed empty.
