hello I did this a few times...

If you are through booked from YUL - JFK - LHR - PRG(one ticket) then yes the baggage will be transferred... slowly....

Worth showing BA your Baggage receipt from AA to ensure they have it in their system and know it should be coming to them from AA...

It actually goes to a central sort at JFK from T8 and back to T7
