You can do this with most companies, but it's simpler to just set fire to ten pound notes. It's a very uneconomical thing to do. Various (mandatory) additional fees, expensive ferry fares.
There is huge competition on the UK ireland air route (and cheap sail-rail fares) so flying over and renting in Ireland is a better deal.
