In the recollection of this old timer's memory, I have only experienced an aborted landing once. It was in YWG on an AC A320
and the cause was a runway incursion by a light aircraft.

While in the military, I did experience a birdstrike while on the flight deck as a pax in a C130 Hercules taking off from Prestwick Scotland. We had to do a emergency shutdown of an engine and declare an emergency to land asap as the Herc had flown through a flock of seagulls and a second engine was acting up. A somewhat dramatic memory...
