For AF earnings, it's not clear on the JMB site how it works.
I understand no FOP is earned for any AF flight, so basically not elite qualifying but only miles. However almost all AF flights between Paris and Japan are excluded, so does that mean any other AF flight will earn miles provided they are booked in the fare code listed? For example if I book JFK-CDG-HKG will I earn the full miles or does JMB limit the AF earning to European routes only?
Additionally, what about code share flights? AF flight number but on KL/DL metal?
For Japan Paris routes, it is the lower economy booking classes that are excluded. B and above still earns.
Codeshare flights only earns if it is JAL metal underneath.
AF codes on TGV and Thallys (high speed trains) does not earn.
But otherwise you are go to go. Expect the AF staff at check in or the the lounge will say JL is not a partner when asking to add the number. Just insist, and they will realise the system accepts it. Just probably not a very frequent occurrence for them to be asked to add a JMB number.
