Does JL oversell seats? I've been looking at my flight next week JFK-NRT and it's been zeroed out in all fare codes for about 2 weeks now for both flights. I'm curious how they handle oversold flight in case like this.
They do oversell like any other airline. Through my many JAL flights I have never experienced them calling for volunteers to go on another flight (maybe as I mainly fly international?), so they seem to have the situation managed well. I have had flights zeroed out in the class I booked, or in all classes, but I have yet to hear the call for volunteers. They probably oversell less aggressively than other airlines.
