Would not that employee's deductible be incurred, though (among other possible complications)? The hotel should take responsibility for its vendor.
Agreed, though, that the FLL cops aren't likely to take much notice (maybe in a small town, but not FLL). May be an option to file an online report and fire that over to hotel/vendor management.
