What to do with expiring "Bonus Travel Ticket"?

Need a little help. I have a Bonus Travel Ticket I received for a voluntary bump almost a year ago. It's about to expire and I don't want it to go to waste. It is the type with my name on it and IS NOT transferable to others. I also DO NOT want to just take a vacation trip with it as I don't have the time before it expires.

My thought was to book a round ticket out of PDX for a one day turn around to some destination with the best chance of a bump. This way I get a new Bonus Travel Ticket good for another year.

So my question is what should I do with the expiring ticket?

If I do fly somewhere to try to get a bump, where should it be? (My thought would be a flight to Palm Springs or Las Vegas with a return Sunday night). Thanks in advance for any advice.
