Bathroom design and layout.Shower only?

For me I think separate shower and tub is the basic amenities for a luxury or even upscale hotel.

Only half of JW properties in America come with separate shower and tube, the rest older one are combination.

For some newer JW such as LA Live, Austin TX and Indianapolis , all the room comes with shower only which I get it, it’s convention/business hotel not real luxury/leisure purpose. But they (Indy JW)claimed themself as the best luxury hotel in the Midwest (No.25 in the world. How dare you? )instead of business hotel. What makes me even confused is that if you check the big suite in those 3 properties you will see even suites comes with shower only. This is really odd and if you check the floor plan of suite in LA live or Indy you see how much area they waste and it can totally put an oversize tub in the bathroom.

Does anyone know why? I really would like to know, since Austin and Indy claimed themselves as Luxury hotel in downtown.

Do you expect to see a super large shower only bathroom when you spending thousands booking a 80 meters suite? Does anybody here want to take shower together with your friend?

FYI:

Standard room , JW in Bangkok is 33 meters, Hong Kong is 31~34 meters, but they both fit a shower and separate tub in bathroom area, still have enough space for bedroom and sitting area. LA live is 34 meters, Austin is 37 meters, but now it looks like they are only 30 meters. Strange. Do they cheating about their size? It’s impossible that a 31~33 meters room comes with more space than a 34 meters room, right? Unless some hotels’ room size is a lie.

95% of JW in Asia comes with separate shower and bath. Very few Jw Marriott in Europe, middle east and south America comes with a shower only(Aka boring and non- luxury) bathroom.

A standard suite in JW Marriott Venice is 30 meters and it comes with a double vanities, a luxury tub bathroom. A standard room in JW Austin is 37 meters. What?
