Not only does it have to be a full coach fare to be confirmed at time of reservation, it better be a full, full, full, coach fare and not just any "Y" fare either. It has to be the fullest of the "Y" fares. I just booked a NW PDX-PHL that cost $1,136 and said "Y". When I called to get my upgrade with the AS/NW cert., they said that it was indeed "Y", but not "full Y".
