Actually, wait times tend to be very reasonable when calling the German call center (usually 0-5min, so the OP was very unlucky).

However, wait times can fluctuate quite a bit since the FRA office only has ~5-6 agents.

I have frequently dealt with them and they are among the best and well-trained AC agents IME, but there are several limiations:

- limited opening hours: Mon - Fri. 9a.m. - 5p.m.
- they aren't overly familiar with status benefits-
- AC/AE eliminated their ability to make AE bookings, process MCOs etc. - which I find extremely annoying
