Not only do you get the fee back, but you get a choice of them returning the money (via a CC credit) or they will hold the funds and let you use them the next time you purchase something on Southwest.

I've heard of "problems" with the letting them hold your money. So I've always asked for it to be reimbursed. No problems with that approach, so far at least.
