Wow....

I havent read the article... but, I would have expected the pilots to ask questions regarding why they where being asked to land in a 'remote' section, or...?

If the beacon was malfunctioning, it would seem to me that directing them to a special area of the airport would have at least raised an eyebrow in the cockpit...?
