Much as everyone likes the idea of more exclusivity and greater space in a premium cabin - I think the nature of premium air travel demand and financial state of SQ in general calls for as much as possible:
- packing in as many as possible suites into the available space while attempting to maintain a spacious / exclusive feeling
- decreasing the total footprint of premium cabins
- so that more passengers can be flown on each flight, at a more attractive price (lower $) making premium more accessible
Having wonderfully luxurious suites that fly 1/2 empty most of the time (or at significant required discount, or sold off as non-revenue / award seats) is good for no one. SQ cannot afford to put large apartments in their planes...
