I much prefer the in-ear ones for travel. In WT and WT+, they are no trouble at all and I find them much more effective at noise cancelling. In J and F - as a side sleeper, they used to hurt as I lay down, but I solved that by travelling with a memory foam donut style neck pillow. Instead of clipping it around my neck, I use it instead of the rather meagre pillow, and my ear complete with ear-bud inserted sits neatly in the hole and I sleep undisturbed by noise or discomfort!
