2. We were not really interested in going to San Francisco for anytime at all. My wife has some fatigue issues and this is a very long trip for her. So with the free passes to the United Club, we just thought we could have a quieter and more comfortable location to wait.
With regard to fatigue. I cam empathize. However... I think it's a lot more fatiguing to be in an airport for 11 hours into going to the city. The boredom of being there, the stale air, the lack of body movement....
I particularly like to go on a long walk or jog before very long flight. Another suggestion is to leave the airport and go to a day spa where you can both exercise and relax.
I think you will get cabin fever in the airport after an hour and 25 minutes.
Edited to add: I regularly fly into SFO, arriving around 11am. I take the BART to Berkley and visit family. I take the BART back downtown for an hour. I then take BART back to SFO and have 45 minutes in the lounge. My return flight at 7pm. I am never running, and I don't feel rushed. That's 8 hours. You have an additional 3!
