I'm new to delta, but am a weekly traveler myself. I have had a similar bad experience. There is a definite disconnect between the flight crew and the gate people. I was frustrated because Delta promises "dedicated overhead space" for Comfort+, but I was forced to check a bag 20 minutes before door closing, and once I got on board the bins were nearly empty. The flight crew told me to tweet @delta, so I did, and the reply was "sorry your flight was delayed". I tweeted to them again on landing after waiting for 30+ minutes for bags to arrive and I just got a platitude response and a "well share your feedback with airport leadership".
