Some clarifications

Yes we realize 11 hours is a long time. We did consider the BART, but what do we do with carry-on luggage. Would there be lockers?

How are you accessing the lounges? Did you book in business or first class?

We obtained the United Lounge passes through United Mileage Plus credit card. Complimentary with the membership good for lunge access one day!

Assuming you are flying business class, you can access any of three United Clubs. If you are flying F, you can access the F lounge (assuming it is still open at that time)

There are two lounges with showers. The F lounge (see above) and the Arrivals lounge. You will not have access to the arrivals lounge on YVR-SFO-AKL. If you are returning on UA AKL-SFO in business or F you would be able to use the Arrivals lounge.

We are not going to Auckland from YVR, that day's flight is ABQ-SFO-AUK. We are returning via YVR-LAX-ABQ.

Only if you have F lounge access (see above). Otherwise, there is a pay shower facility airside at SFO.

Show the agent your boarding pass.
Thanks, we just don't want to be violating rule, or be obnoxious to others, just looking for some more comfortable waiting areas with better seating between the flights.
